]]>Yay thank you! Glad you agree! Hope you loved it as much as I do!
]]>Hi Amelie, thank you so much for reading my post!
Do you mean the NutraSea NutraVeg supplements? The active ingredient is algal oil (just over 1 gram per teaspoon). There is sunflower oil in there you are right, which is used to make it palatable and so they can add other ingredients such as the antioxidants to it does not go rancid. I estimate there is about 3 grams of sunflower oil per teaspoon which is not very much. There is nothing ‘bad’ about sunflower oil, it is just that too much is not ideal. I am in the process of researching other reputable brands for plant-based omega-3 but for now this is the best one I have found. I will keep you posted! Thanks again!
Perfect! Thank you for that! Having the weights is definitely handy. Yes this is one of my favourite recipes :)
]]>Awesome! I hope you love it. It is a staple in our house. My red miso (AKA miso) is made from rice so is gluten free. I did make sure to include a note about Mugi miso because your right some miso is made from barley :)
]]>Thank you! That is a great tip!

]]>Great! Yes it is about 11 grams net carbs per serving. Recipe makes 4 servings.
]]>Amazing! Glad you found it helpful :) Thank’s for letting me know
]]>Thanks sweet, keep up good information,
Xox
Hi Jaya! Yes I am always trying to find replacements for refined sugar and flour. It is surprisingly easy to do, and I think everything with peanut butter tastes good! It might be more difficult with scones because it is all flour and sugar, but I would be interested to hear if you find a good recipe!
]]>Yay! I am glad you liked the looks of it. Let me know if you gave it a try!
]]>Oh, I love the addition of a medium tomato! I’m glad you liked it! Yes the servings are large, so halving it for two people is a good idea :)
]]>I am so happy you liked it!! This is one of my favourites and I love how easy it is. So great that your TCM recommended mung beans – I feel like we don’t eat enough of them! Rachel
]]>Hi Riya, The majority of the carbs are coming from the berries which are very low glycemic index. You could reduce the berries but I would increase the fat (almond butter) to help with flavour. The carbs are 18g total but you always subtract the fibre (7g) for net carbs. Net carbs is 11 grams :)
Thanks you! Rachel
Oh my gosh! Good pick up! Thank you :)
]]>Thank you so much! Especially important this time of year!
]]>Thank you so much Erica! I plan to keep updating as more information comes out!
]]>Hi Tonya,
There is not problem blending all three. I usually suggest aiming for 25 different plant-varieties per day for optimal gut health and keeping our gut bacteria healthy. So if this means having all three seeds in your smoothie then go for it!
Oh YUM! I must try this combination. I am so happy you loved the soup!!
]]>Hi Alisha, yes I use WordPress and Foodie Pro by Genesis :)
]]>Wonderful! I will have to try – how many energy balls does it make?
]]>Hi Heinz! I am so happy to hear you tried the chocolate. I have never peeled my cacao beans but am willing to give that a try. Sometimes the chocolate is a little grainy when I don’t blend the sugar first. I find that blending the can sugar in the vitamix first results in a smoother chocolate. It is never going to be as smooth as store bought chocolate though because there is no heat :)
]]>Thank you so much! I hope you loved the crackers too!
]]>Question though – in the pictures it looks like you didn’t peel the cocoa beans? I also didn’t peel the beans, as it is a lot of work and if not necessary, why waste time? However, the end result is a bit on the grainy side, even though I had it spinning in the Vitamix for a while. Have you tried peeling them?
Heinz
]]>Hi Shannon! This will keep for up to 5 days in the fridge. I tend not to freeze dairy products, but I’ve actually never tried freezing this dip!
]]>I am so glad you love them! They are a favourite in my house!
]]>Thank you so much! I am glad you are interested in sourcing out good evidence for the fight against GMOs!
]]>Oh sorry evidence-based *
]]>Tonight I’ve made the Lebanese style one but added 3x the cumin because I love it and a couple of sticks of bendy celery. The flavours are so delicious. Thank you for all the variations. Such humble ingredients for the most warming meal.
]]>Hi Jaya!
I hope you liked it! I make the recipe all the time, and often when I do it with kids at work I just use an egg (instead of the flax and water) to make it easier. We often make it with honey as well, which is cheaper. I find that we need to bake the cookies at 325F for about 20 minutes with honey.
Another great basic recipe is this one https://theconsciousdietitian.com/all-recipes/easy-almond-butter-chocolate-chip-cookies-vegan-gf-sugar-free/ I often make it with peanut butter, honey and eggs. Its great with candied ginger, or spices, or the classic chocolate chips. I hope you love this one too!

]]>Hi Angel,
Thank you so much for your kind words. Vitamin D deficiency is more common that we think, so I am happy that you are aware of foods that are high in vitamin D and consuming them regularly. Depending on where you live it can be difficult to rely solely on food in the winter, but definitely not impossible. Good luck with everything and thanks again for stopping by. Rachel
I like what you’ve posted on your blog, and I enjoyed reading it. Please know that by sharing your healthy tips with us your helping your readers to be aware and eat right. I don’t even know if I have a deficiency in vitamin D. I have now incorporated salmon, shrimp, and tuna into my diet, since I found from this post that these contain high volume of vitamin D. I’m hoping these foods will help me to have a strong immune system knowing that I don’t take any multivitamins or supplements. Here’s a list of foods rich in vitamin D https://lcrhealth.com/vitamin-d-myths/, thanks”
]]>I was actually searching for a basic cookie recipe (a basic scone recipe would be awesome too) that can be used with different spices/dried fruits to flavour it? I’m looking for a healthy recipe I can start with rather than just going straight for the caster sugar, SR flour and butter (not that I really know what I’m talking about!). If I can freeze it too, all the better!
Thanks :)
My favourite chia pudding is with coconut milk and cacao powder. Yum!
