Earlier this year, the answer to the age old question Is breakfast really the most important meal of the day? was answered in The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. Although the study was small, it concluded that there is no major differences between breakfast eaters and breakfast non-eaters in terms of metabolic profile – though, the breakfast eaters did have more stable blood sugar levels throughout the day. Does this change anything in the world of nutrition? No, not really.

Each individual’s metabolism is different and there really is no right or wrong answer to this query. If you are like me and feel the hunger pains even before you get out of bed in the morning, then yeah, get some fuel in you ASAP. If you can go until noon with an empty stomach… then that’s fine to! Regardless of what you choose, this smoothie offers up a healthy meal anytime of the day. The Greek yogurt and hemp seeds are packed full of protein which helps your tummy feel and is also important for muscle and tissue repair. Ingredients for All Natural Protein Packed Berry Banana Smoothie
1/2 cup organic Greek Yogurt
1/2 cup organic soy milk, unsweetened
1 frozen banana
3/4 cup frozen mixed berries
2 tbsp. hemp seeds (AKA hemp hearts)
Method for All Natural Protein Packed Berry Banana Smoothie
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Option to add 1/2 tbsp. of honey for sweetness.
